Halloween Treats

I made a little Halloween treat for the kids. They each get a little bucket with candy and some little toys, then I made some rice krispie treats. They turned out really good, I put food coloring in the melted marshmallow to make it orange, then I put candy corns in with the rice krispies and they taste really good. I can't explain it but the candy corn adds a different flavor and they are DELICIOUS!!! Then I used a pumpkin cookie cutter and cut them. So they are suppose to look like pumpkins but I didn't use enough food coloring because the marshmallow looked darker before I put it on. So whoever tries this make sure it's really orange. Then I put a pumpkin cand corn on each one.

Rules Chart

So the kids and me made up some rules that we thought were good to follow and had their parents look them over to approve them. Then I decided to make it into a chart, then I had another idea. On the side of the chart is a "stop light" when there names are on green then they're good, after one warning they have to move there name to yellow. If they break a rule again then there name gets moved to the red stop sign. If that happens then they don't get there mark for the day on there charts. Yesterday when they got home I had this all ready then I gave them the fun shapes to put where ever they wanted too. They had a blast doing that, they re-did it about four times until they got it how they wanted it.

They wanted to show off there work.

And of course they wanted to do a funny picture.

We hung it on the inside of the basement door so they can reach it so they have to move there own names. So far Andrew and Bella have both gone to yellow.

Andrew's Grounded

So today I grounded Andrew for the first time. They are suppose to have no homework on fridays, so when I went through his bag today and found a worksheet I asked when it was due. Now he has one of these spelling worksheets every week and I know that they are due on fridays. So I asked him to see what he would say. He looked at me then looked down and said "it was due today." I asked why he didn't turn it in, he said "it wasn't finished." Now he knows that he is suppose to finish his homework everyday in order to get his mark for the day, and he had told me on thursday that it was all done. Then he asked to ride his bike. So I let them both out before it got dark. So I asked him if he had lied to me on thursday aboput his homework being done. He said yes. Then he started to cry. He is the most sensative little boy I have ever met, I mean I wasn't even yelling at him and he burst into tears. I asked why he didn't finish it if he knew it was due today. He said "just because and I wanted to ride my bike." Well I told him his mark was taken away for thursday because he didn't finish his work and he lied. That made him cry even harder, I mean full on heaving chest, crocodile tears, runny nose, everything!! I told him to stop crying and go finish his worksheet. He was at the table not working and just crying. Now I was really getting frustrated. I told him to work and he said through tears "I don't have a pencil." Oooh I was frustrated I said well Andrew get up and get one then. He gets one and sits back down. Still not working. I said Andrew what are you doing finish your worksheet. Still crying "the pencil isn't sharpened." OH MY HECK SERIOUSLY GO SHARPEN IT!! Well 30 minutes later the tears are still falling non-stop and he hasn't done a thing. So I told him he could either do the worksheet or he'd be grounded. Well that made him cry harder and 10 minutes later nothing was done. So not only did he get grounded but he got to sit in a corner till he calmed down wich took another 15 minutes, then alot of talking to. Finally he calmed down enough to do his worksheet. I told him that I was going to have to tell his parents about it, and the tears started again. I told him he better not start that again or I would ground him more. That made him stop. So his parents got home I went to the bank and when I came back Andrew was upstairs. I knew that if he was downstairs when I told his parents that they would probably ground him longer so I decided to tell them while he wasn't there. So I said Andrew got into trouble tonight. Roy was like "ya he told us what happened. He was trying to get out of being grounded by telling us what happened." He started to laugh. That little terd was trying to get his parents to override my punishment on him, I knew it wouldn't happen because they gave me full power to punish how I see fit on all the children. Anyways I only grounded him for a week from riding his bike. I didn't think it was that bad of a punishment. However since he tried to get out of it through his parents, because they obviously knew what he was trying to do, they grounded him from playstation for a week. Let's say I don't think Andrew will try that ever again he just doubled his punishment!!! It was a very long night!!!

Good Behavior Charts

Andrew and Bella have been having trouble getting there homework done at nights, mostly because they won't tell me what all they have to do. They would tell me what homework they had then when there dad got home they would tell him what more they had. I got so sick and tired of them not telling me all there homework I talked to them several times about it, punished them but it just continued to happen. To add to all of that Bella would fight me on reading because she struggles with it. I would sit with her for on hour and a half a night and help her but she just wouldn't try. I was getting fed up with it all so I decided to try something different. So I made up these good behavior charts. Each square has three days in it and every two squares is a week. A row is a month. So everyday when they get home I look through there bags to make sure all there homework gets done, they each read for 20 mins and I even got Bella wanting to read, then they do there chores and NO FIGHTING!!! After each day if I decide it was all done correctly they get to mark off that day. When three days in the square are all marked they get to choose a sticker. Stickers can be taken away for bad behavior. If they get a whole row of stickers, so a month, then they get a special treat from me. That made them so excited and when there mom saw the charts she said that she would give them something special too. It's been about a week and a half and all homework has been done, all thing's needing parents signatures have been sighned and there have been less fights. They get so excited everyday to mark it off and they love choosing a sticker. I only have the charts done for three months so far. I'm going to wait and see how it all goes.

Hannah Montana

Bella got a Hannah Montana wig and Guitar for her birthday so we were playing with it. She wanted me to put on the hair so we could be sisters. I was thinking how does blonde hair make us look anything like sisters :)!!!! I will never understand how she thinks. She's so funny!!

We put the wig on R.J. and he loved it. He was rocking out it was so cute!!

Bike Accident

So Andrew and Bella have been asking me to ride there bikes for the last couple of days and today I let them go out and ride when they got home from school. Andrew was the most excited because he just got a new bike for his birthday. So about 10 minutes later Andrew comes into the house just balling. I asked what happened and through giant sobs he told me that he crashed his bike and cut his leg open. I started freaking out thinking oh great this is going to suck telling his parents. I got him sat down and told him to move his hand so I could see. When he did I almost started laughing it was a small scrape it barely broke the skin but I cleaned it and but a big band-aid on it for him. He went back out to ride but came in because it hurt his leg to much to ride. So bike riding was over for the day.

King's Dominion

King'd Dominion is like Lagoon only bigger. For a day the whole park was closed to everyone except those who work for the Government. So we all got to go for free for the day. It was so much fun to just hang out with the kids all day. Me and Bella went on alot of the bigger rides that she was allowed to go on, but Andrew wouldn't go on the rides because he was to scared. He just wanted to go on the rides that R.J. could go on and that was onlyy about two tiny rides. They all got cranky around lunch time. Kristin sat at the table with Sebastion while me and Roy took the kids to get there food. He was getting R.J.'s and Andrews and I was getting Bella's. It was awfull!!! R.J. started crying for ice-cream then he took off. Roy had to chase after him then Bella started crying because she was too hot. I was trying to get her to tell me what she wanted but she just cried so I said forget it and I got her whatever they had. After they ate we got ice-cream and they each ate like 3 or 4 ice-creams because is was so hot outside. Overall it was a fun day!!

Bella's Pony Birthday

Bella had a pony Birthday Party and she loved it!!! They rented a pony ride for an hour and it was hard to get Bella to stop the ride. She said next year she wants a pony to keep. I don't think she'll get it but you never know. They made all the kids have at least one turn, R.J. liked it but only had two rides. Bella wouldn't get off and Andrew hated it. He started crying when he was told to get on. He's a VERY sensative boy. Once he was up he said it wasn't that high and took his ride but that was it. Sebastion didn't know what was going on but he looked so cute up there, he loved the sadle horn and he looks like a little gangster with the bandana on his head. It was a fun day but that night was bad. They let Bella have a sleep over with two of the girls. They have never allowed sleepovers before so it was new and the kids were horrible. They were up all night and they kept R.J. up so he was very cranky the next day. They said no more sleepovers ever again. I think they would be fine with one friend over but Kristin really hates messes in her house aon anything left out by the girls just irritated her.

The kids wanted to make a funny face into the camera. I need to take some more pics with me in them also but it's hard getting them all together because of school. As soon as Bella and Andrew get home they have to change there clothes and start on homework. Roy is very strict about homework being done or almost done by the time he gets home. They are both very strict about education, they have already told Andrew that he's going to be a Lawyer and Bella is going to be a Doctor. R.J. and Sebastion get to choose which one they want between the two. However the other day Roy said if one of them becomes a sports announcer for soccer then they will be his favorite. It's so different being in a non LDS home and the way they interact with each other. But I'm getting use to it but it doesn't mean that I have to talk that way to the kids. They are all great and I hope there parents realize that.
These are the kids that I nanny for. The oldest is Andrew (Andres) and he's 9 yrs old. Next is Isabella (Bella) and she is 7 yrs old. They are both in school most of the day. Next is R.J. (Roy Jr.) and he is 3 yrs old. Last is Sebastion (Seabass) and he is about 5 mo. old. They are all great kids and so much fun to be around. I never call Andrew Andres but his parents do when they are mad at him. I don't think I'll ever call him that especially with my lack of accent, it would sound kinde wierd. Bella is ussually called Isabella when she gets in trouble and I have called her that a couple times just because it doesn't require an accent. R.J. is never called Roy Jr. well actually it's Rojulio Jr. from his dad's name. The first time I heard Sebastion's name I was trying to think of a nick name I could call him but with no success. Then I found out that Kristin and Roy call him Seabass. Well I can't bring myself to calling him that either so I call him baby or Bastion.

This is the house in Virginia where I live with Kristin, Roy, Andrew, Isabella, R.J., and Sebastian Ruiz. I Kristin and Roy are my employers and I am a nanny for the four kids. I love it here in Virginia, there are so many trees and it's beautiful. There house is huge and I love living here. They have a pool and a very annoying dog, Dora. There is a singles branch not far from here and I've started to make some friends. I'm glad I decided to do this and to try something new in my life.

New Blog

O.K. im just trying to figure out this whole blog thing right now so I'll play with it for a while and try to get some stuff set up.
