D.C.

I went to D.C. again last weekend to finish up seeing everything I hadn't already seen. This time it was just me and Jackie and we had so much fun. First we got to see the Decleration of Independence and the Bill of Rights and all those other old documents :) They were so faded that you could barely see what was written on them. On the Decleration you couldn't see any of the names you could only see one loop on the J for John Hancock. It was cool but no pictures were allowed. I was thinking about the movie National Treasure and wondering if I could steal it. :)
Now my pictures I posted are kinda backwards so this is the end of the night when we went to the Lincoln Memorial. It was a couple miles away from the nearest metro so we walked in the dark on a scary street to get there. I wish I would of had my mace with me but they have security checks everywhere so I knew I couldn't have it. We weren't exactly sure we were going the right way either so that added to our worries but eventually we saw it so we relaxed a little. It was so pretty at night, and there were still a ton of people there.

Me and Lincoln, I have to say that this whole day reminded me of the movie Night at the Museum 2. We were in the museum and saw alot of the stuff in the movie.

We both felt disgusting by this time. We had been walking all day we were tired and sweaty and just plain gross!!
The White House

Me and Jackie taking over the White House!! I look good behind that desk :)

Peek-a-boo!! I was looking for secret compartments like on National Treasure 2. Yes I am a movie buff, they need to stop making movies about D.C. because that's all I could think of while I was there and Jackie kept making fun of me. :)

Giving my campaign speech, I think I got some voters!! :)

While at the Smithsonian we saw alot of stuff, they had everything there. We were in there for hours just looking at everything. That is where we spent most of our day. While we were in the cafeteria we had a scare that almost made me have a heartattack. We were standing in line when a lady came running up to the front telling the people in charge that there was an unnatended bag and we needed to eveacuate everyone. I looked and the bag was only a couple feet away from me, I swear at that moment my heart dropped down to my butt. I thought I was going to be blown up. Thankfully before anymore panic happened one of the managers who had just dropped by to check on something said it was his bag. I did not like that cafeteria anymore, I mean they have security checks before you go into the museum but they sometimes don't check everywhere. So ya I was pretty scared at that moment. But the rest of the day was good.
Abraham Lincoln's hat.

They had all the dresses worn by the first ladies at the Presidential Inauguration. I didn't want to put all the pictures on here but some of them are really funny looking.
Martha Washington's dress.

Dorthy's ruby red slippers from The Wizard of Oz.

I made some new friends. I'm pretty sure Jackie was getting a little embarrased by me but I had a good time.
Me and Guy waiting for the bus.

Me and Man after a hard days work.

Me and Family discussing things at the bank.
Me and C3P0. This was the actual costume that the actor wore!!

Getting eaten by a Great White Shark, I knew it would happen eventually I just thought it would be at the beach.
Well I am proud to say that I have experienced D.C. and it was fun, but my feet are going to have permanent blissters from all the walking. I will never forget the good times I had there and I'm glad to have a friend like Jackie to take me around and show me everything. She was an awsome tour guide!!

4th of July

For the 4th me and my friends Jackie and Lowell went to D.C. We went on the 3rd to see the runthrough of the big celebration. It was less crowded but it was still packed!! It was a very long fun day!! Everywhere we went we had to go through a security check, it was crazy!! It was very hot and humid and we had to walk everywhere so we were feeling pretty nasty by the end of the day!!

National Monument

We went to the Air and Space Museum, it's a bunch of airplanes everywhere. Lowell LOVED It!! He's a mechanical engineer who specializes in airplane engines so he was in Heaven. Me and Jackie on the other hand were getting SO Bored!! lol But it was funny to see him get all worked up about a plane and he would start telling us all these facts about it. He kept us intertained!!

I got hit by a plane!!
Saving our spot on the Capitol steps waiting for the concert to start.
The Capitol was really pretty at night. If you look closely you can see the sniper standing on the balcony. We saw two others on the buildings on either side of us.
The first two performers weren't there, they just had people up an stage acting like the performer. We were really dissapointed and we were afraid that none of them were going to be there. But they were and it was Awwsome!! It was way crowded all around us and you couldn't stand up so you just had to adjust your head position to see the stage.
John Schneider (Bo Duke from Dukes of Hazard, Jonathan Kent from Smallville) He was a really good singer and I Love him in Smallville so I was pretty excited when I saw him there.
Reba McEntire, she sang last and she sang the most songs. Jackie doesn't like country music so I was sure to show her that I knew all the songs :)
David Archuleta, he is just so adorable. We thought we saw him in the Air and Space Museum, I'm telling you this kid was his Doppelganger!! Me and Jackie were freaking out and kinda stalking him for a minute, but in the end it wasn't him. I stood kinda behind him and was like "Hey David" and nothing. LOL It was fun!!
We also went to the Holocaust Museum wich was very sad!! It was very quiet and it really just hits you, I can;t really even explain it. There was one section where they had all the shoe's from the people who were gassed. They were baby shoes, kid shoes, women and men shoes, and there were SO Many of them!!
I've decided I don't care for the Metro. There are just too many people and they are rude and pushy and I'm just a country girl and I like it that way!! Ic ould never live in the city!! There's was this nasty little chinease man who sat next to me and he reaked of alchohol. Then there was this guy sitting across from us who was wasted and stoned!! He was really creaping us out!! There is still alot of stuff I haven't seen so we're going back in a couple weeks so I'll have more soon.
