D.C.

I went to D.C. again last weekend to finish up seeing everything I hadn't already seen. This time it was just me and Jackie and we had so much fun. First we got to see the Decleration of Independence and the Bill of Rights and all those other old documents :) They were so faded that you could barely see what was written on them. On the Decleration you couldn't see any of the names you could only see one loop on the J for John Hancock. It was cool but no pictures were allowed. I was thinking about the movie National Treasure and wondering if I could steal it. :)
Now my pictures I posted are kinda backwards so this is the end of the night when we went to the Lincoln Memorial. It was a couple miles away from the nearest metro so we walked in the dark on a scary street to get there. I wish I would of had my mace with me but they have security checks everywhere so I knew I couldn't have it. We weren't exactly sure we were going the right way either so that added to our worries but eventually we saw it so we relaxed a little. It was so pretty at night, and there were still a ton of people there.

Me and Lincoln, I have to say that this whole day reminded me of the movie Night at the Museum 2. We were in the museum and saw alot of the stuff in the movie.

We both felt disgusting by this time. We had been walking all day we were tired and sweaty and just plain gross!!
The White House

Me and Jackie taking over the White House!! I look good behind that desk :)

Peek-a-boo!! I was looking for secret compartments like on National Treasure 2. Yes I am a movie buff, they need to stop making movies about D.C. because that's all I could think of while I was there and Jackie kept making fun of me. :)

Giving my campaign speech, I think I got some voters!! :)

While at the Smithsonian we saw alot of stuff, they had everything there. We were in there for hours just looking at everything. That is where we spent most of our day. While we were in the cafeteria we had a scare that almost made me have a heartattack. We were standing in line when a lady came running up to the front telling the people in charge that there was an unnatended bag and we needed to eveacuate everyone. I looked and the bag was only a couple feet away from me, I swear at that moment my heart dropped down to my butt. I thought I was going to be blown up. Thankfully before anymore panic happened one of the managers who had just dropped by to check on something said it was his bag. I did not like that cafeteria anymore, I mean they have security checks before you go into the museum but they sometimes don't check everywhere. So ya I was pretty scared at that moment. But the rest of the day was good.
Abraham Lincoln's hat.

They had all the dresses worn by the first ladies at the Presidential Inauguration. I didn't want to put all the pictures on here but some of them are really funny looking.
Martha Washington's dress.

Dorthy's ruby red slippers from The Wizard of Oz.

I made some new friends. I'm pretty sure Jackie was getting a little embarrased by me but I had a good time.
Me and Guy waiting for the bus.

Me and Man after a hard days work.

Me and Family discussing things at the bank.
Me and C3P0. This was the actual costume that the actor wore!!

Getting eaten by a Great White Shark, I knew it would happen eventually I just thought it would be at the beach.
Well I am proud to say that I have experienced D.C. and it was fun, but my feet are going to have permanent blissters from all the walking. I will never forget the good times I had there and I'm glad to have a friend like Jackie to take me around and show me everything. She was an awsome tour guide!!

4th of July

For the 4th me and my friends Jackie and Lowell went to D.C. We went on the 3rd to see the runthrough of the big celebration. It was less crowded but it was still packed!! It was a very long fun day!! Everywhere we went we had to go through a security check, it was crazy!! It was very hot and humid and we had to walk everywhere so we were feeling pretty nasty by the end of the day!!

National Monument

We went to the Air and Space Museum, it's a bunch of airplanes everywhere. Lowell LOVED It!! He's a mechanical engineer who specializes in airplane engines so he was in Heaven. Me and Jackie on the other hand were getting SO Bored!! lol But it was funny to see him get all worked up about a plane and he would start telling us all these facts about it. He kept us intertained!!

I got hit by a plane!!
Saving our spot on the Capitol steps waiting for the concert to start.
The Capitol was really pretty at night. If you look closely you can see the sniper standing on the balcony. We saw two others on the buildings on either side of us.
The first two performers weren't there, they just had people up an stage acting like the performer. We were really dissapointed and we were afraid that none of them were going to be there. But they were and it was Awwsome!! It was way crowded all around us and you couldn't stand up so you just had to adjust your head position to see the stage.
John Schneider (Bo Duke from Dukes of Hazard, Jonathan Kent from Smallville) He was a really good singer and I Love him in Smallville so I was pretty excited when I saw him there.
Reba McEntire, she sang last and she sang the most songs. Jackie doesn't like country music so I was sure to show her that I knew all the songs :)
David Archuleta, he is just so adorable. We thought we saw him in the Air and Space Museum, I'm telling you this kid was his Doppelganger!! Me and Jackie were freaking out and kinda stalking him for a minute, but in the end it wasn't him. I stood kinda behind him and was like "Hey David" and nothing. LOL It was fun!!
We also went to the Holocaust Museum wich was very sad!! It was very quiet and it really just hits you, I can;t really even explain it. There was one section where they had all the shoe's from the people who were gassed. They were baby shoes, kid shoes, women and men shoes, and there were SO Many of them!!
I've decided I don't care for the Metro. There are just too many people and they are rude and pushy and I'm just a country girl and I like it that way!! Ic ould never live in the city!! There's was this nasty little chinease man who sat next to me and he reaked of alchohol. Then there was this guy sitting across from us who was wasted and stoned!! He was really creaping us out!! There is still alot of stuff I haven't seen so we're going back in a couple weeks so I'll have more soon.

Summertime!!

Since I'm leaving, yes it's official they hired a new nanny and I have my plane ticket I leave Aug. 23rd, me and the kids decided we want to have nothing but FUN this summer. For the most part it has been lots of fun but..... they have there moments. Hopefully we don't have alot of problems just good times. We had a picnic last week and the kids Loved it!! It was fun except the humidity was SO Bad!! We were only out for a couple minutes and I was drenched in sweat, but the kids didn't seem to mind they just had a good time eating and playing.

When the kids ride there bikes this is what I use to pull R.J. and Sebastian around. They love it but it gets very tireing taking them up and down that dang hill!!

I Love this picture of Sebastian!! That's his Mad Face. The picture is foggy because of the humidity, and this was right after I wiped the lense. It was pretty bad that day. Yuck :p

We have been in the pool pretty much everyday since schools been out. It's a great way to keep everyone entertained. Sometimes I just like to relax, Ya Right!! The kids want to play Little Mermaid and Sea Monster and Burried Treasure and Water Bender!! I never have a moment to just float and relax. It's fun playing with them but my back needs a break from them constantly jumping on me and trying to drowned me!! :)
Sebastian is so good in the water, he loves just floating around in his crab. He splashes constantly and he likes to throw toys and make me get them. it's one of his favorite games!!

Andrew puts the life jacket on like a diaper and calls himself Diaper Baby!! He thinks it's Hilarious!!

R.J. likes his floaties!!
Bella and her goggles!!
With all this pool time I'm getting a nice tan, well actually I've discovered that I freckle alot. But it's fun to be outside in the water and not cooped up inside all day!!

Random Happenings

So there's been alot of little things happening, so I thought I would tell about them. First of all, if you can't tell from my new background, I am WAY Excited for Eclipse to come out on the 30th!! I'm not going opening night but me and my friend Jackie are going a couple days after. I'm just glad I found someone here who likes it as much as I do!! :)

Last friday night me and Jackie stopped at a gas station to fill up the car, it was night and there were two cop cars there testing a guy for drunk driving. We were both watching when these two guys walked in front of us and they kept looking back at us. I said "Jackie those guys are totally checking us out." She looks and was like "Uh, no they're checking you out." Now these boys couldn't have been older than 18 or 19, and the one who kept looking back had an afro with a purple pick in it. LOL He waved at me when he saw me look at him so I did the nice thing and waved back. Jackie was like "Don't make them come over here." Me, "They're not ganna come over they're getting in there car." So we get in the car to leave and they drove past us and blew a kiss. LOL It was Hilarious!!! It's nice to get flirted with once in a while, even when it's a gas station afro man!!

On saturday a lady in the branch was having an all day party/carnival at her house. Me and Jackie went later in the day, when we were driving there it started to pour rain!! We were about ready to turn around and head back when it started to clear up, with the rain it took us an hour and a half to get there. By the time we got there they had already done all the games and were just kinda hanging out. We didn't know what to do, so we just sat there and talked. It was so Humid that day, it was Rediculously Hot!!! We got some cotton candy and it started to melt because of the humidity. I couldn't even enjoy my cotton candy because stinken humidity ruined it. I will not miss that when I go home!! Later that night they had fireworks, some people started playing with roman candles and it scared me a little when they were being pointed at people. I just got out of the way.

Last friday while Roy, my boss, was coming home he hit a big pot hole and popped two of his tires and cracked the rims. They took it in and had to wait while new rims were ordered. The car was finally ready by tuesday night, but that meant that they both stayed home monday and tuesday. I don't like watching the kids when they're both there because the kids never know who to ask for something. Or if I say no to something they will go ask someone else, it's just difficult. Thankfully the car is all fixed up, hopefully nothing else goes wrong.

So Sebastian may only be one, but lately he has been having the terrible two's!! He has discovered screaming lately and now that is ALL he does!! And let me tell ya, he can scream LOUD!!! He kicks, bites, hits, scratches, throws toys at your head, pulls everything he can reach onto the floor, throws food everywhere, and my all time favorite whenever I say no he throws himself onto the floor and just cries forever. *Sigh* Sometimes I feel like throwing myself on the floor and just cry. Lately when Kristin has been getting home from work, Sebastian won't go to her. If she picks him up he'll just scream and reach for me. It makes Kristin sad but you know, what does she expect when I'm the one who's with him all day!! And it is sad, I hate to hear him cry but I can't just hold him all night. I just go down to my room and listen to him cry until he decides he's over it.

So since I'm going home soon, they have been looking for a new nanny. She interviewed a girl last week but she didn't seem to impressed. When I asked her how it went she said that the girl seemed nice and everything but she just doesn't know. And when she called her referance they said that she was good but she doesn't pick up after herself or the kids. Kristin didn't care for that. She has another interview with another local girl this friday. Hopefully it goes well. With all this happening it's making it more real that I'm almost done here. It's hitting me that I'll be leaving and I'm realizing how much I'm going to miss these kids and all my friends. The other night I was in bed thinking about it and I started to cry. Kristin said I can change my mind and stay. :) It's nice to know that I'll be missed also but I know I can't stay here forever and that it's time for me to go back home. The kids have been asking me when I will come back and see them. I said I don't know because plane tickets are so stinken expensive, so Andrew said "Well then why don't you just drive here?" LOL Well that's also really expensive and long!! They don't understand the whole distance thing. But I really do want to try and come back and visit some day. I told them that I'll be here all summer so we're just going to have as much fun as we can!!

Well I think I've babbled on long enough, sorry if it bored you!! :)

Updates

BASEBALL GAME

So last weekend I went to a baseball game with some of my friends. This was my first baseball game and now that I've actually been to one I can truthfully say......ya they're kinda boring!! lol But I did have fun with my friends. The stadium is new so no matter where we sat the seats were really good, it was really nice. The teams were the Washington Nationals vs. Cincinnati Reds, we lost 5-1.

Me, Jackie, and Vanessa havin a good time!!

So we were kinda stalkerish for a while. There was this cute guy sitting in front of us, and after seeing him from the front we determined that he's more cute from the side. So we got a picture.

Ya I know we're kinda pathetic and wierd but it gave us something to do when the game got boring. In fact he was our entertainment for about 10 minutes when a big nasty bug landed on his shoulder. It was so close to his face that we couldn't believe he didn't see it, we didn't know if we should tell him or not so we just laughed. We don't know why it was so funny, it was just one of those things where you laugh because at the time it was Hilarious!! Overall it was a good day of hanging out with friends!!
MEMORIAL DAY

For Memorial day I went to FHE and we had a BBQ. It was So Much Fun!! We tried to play waterballoon volleyball but...... nobody was really good at it. So it didn't last for very long.

We had a full trashcan of waterballoons ready to go.........

....and when the fight started they went FAST!!! I tried to stay out of it because I really didn't want to get wet.

Well thanks to Dallen this is how I looked by the end of the night!! I was SOAKED!!!

ARLINGTON CEMETERY

OK, So I've been here for almost a year and I haven't been to D.C. yet. I know I'm Lame!! But I'm planning on going this summer alot, and I finally went a couple weeks ago even though it was just to Arlington Cemetery but at least now I can say that I've been there at least once. lol There were SO Many white headstones every way you looked, this picture doesn't even begin to show how many there are.

We got there just in time to see the Changing of the Guard. It was really cool, everyone was so quiet. It was Awsome!!

Me and my new friend Stephanie, she just moved here from Utah to be a nanny. This is us riding the Metro. I'm glad she knew where to go because I am so City Deficiant that I had Absolutely No Idea how to know when to get off, or where, and ya I would have gotten myself So Lost!! lol

We ate at this little place called Ollie's Trollies. It was such a cute little burger joint. It had all kinds of antiques, I loved it!! I just walked around looking at everything, oh and the food was also Amazing!! lol

Human Fooseball

One night for FHE I tought everyone how to play Human Fooseball, it was really fun but ALOT of people got hit in the head with the ball!! LOL It always happens. After playing for a while, and remembering how uncordinated I am, I started taking pictures and videos and got some head hitting on camera lol!! No one here had ever played this before so I can say that this is the kind of Idaho culture I brought to Virginia!! :)
